2010 | Video documentation and painting
This is the actual beginning of all my research on the body as a response to my painting activity. I started to use the body as a powerful medium of exploration and a way to go beyond the surface of the canvas, still in a vertical position. I focused on the process whereby colours spreading over the skin and then transferring themselves onto the canvas retain the tension of contact and reproduce the emotional and imaginative power of movements. Albeit using the body to paint the canvas, I still felt the need at some point to balance the final composition by means of minimal rounded shapes.
